Arena European Masters Championships, London

Justine Doody, Diane Asbury and Lionel Spittle headed off to the ARENA EUROPEAN MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS in May at the iconic London Aquatics Centre, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

It was the first time in 25 years that this event had been staged in the UK and the atmosphere was fantastic, with over 10,000 swimmers competing from across 48 nations.

Diane and Lionel were first to swim in the 800m Freestyle. Both found this a particularly challenging swim, but competed well and came back in a reasonable placing in their respective age group. Di was pleased with a new Long Course PB.

The following day saw them both in the 200m Freestyle. Again, both swam well and Diane came back with another Long Course PB.

Justine then competed in 3 events, 100m and 200m Breaststroke and 100m Freestyle. Particularly pleased with the latter 2, she came home with a Long Course PB in the 100m Free and very close to current PB on the 200m Breast.
